thanks again sam
Thanks again, Sam!
Crazy sharp variations! Sharper than a Samauri sword I don't think I could ever play this way but it was very entertaining to watch...
1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Nc3 e6 5.Bg5 dxc4 6.e4 b5 7.e5 h6 8.Bh4 g5 9.Nxg5 hxg5 10.Bxg5 Nbd7 11.g3 Rg8 12.Bxf6 Nxf6 13.exf6 Qxf6 14.Bg2 Bb7 15.Nxb5 cxb5 16.Bxb7 Bb4+
It's possible and indeed advisable for black to capture the pawn immediately with 13...Qxf6
Also in addition to the move 12.h4 which you advocate, I think that the move 12.Bh4 is at least playable, according to the engines at least.
1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Nc3 e6 5.Bg5 dxc4 6.e4 b5 7.e5 h6 8.Bh4 g5 9.Nxg5 hxg5 10.Bxg5 Nbd7 11.exf6 Bb7 12.g3 c5 13.d5 Qb6 14.Bg2 0–0–0 15.0–0 b4 16.Rb1 Qa6 17.dxe6 Bxg2 18.e7 Bxf1 19.Qd5
you claim that this is a forced draw, but according to my engine it recommends that it is significantly stronger that white plays 19.Kxf1 instead here and then he is left with some kind of an advantage. I'm not sure if Stockfish is using hyperbole in it's evaluations though.
At 15:36, my engine disliked the continuation 17...exd5 even though it was the most popular move in the database. Instead it recommended 17...Nb8. I can't understand, does this mean that the computer engines are wrong?
I'm not sure if you checked the accuracy of the video before putting it online, but according to my engine, at 16:07 it is definately a mistake for black to capture on g5 straight away. For some reason, it is mandated that he first plays 20...Bxg2 and the evaluation is 0.00 in this position.
At 17:22 my engine thinks that it is a mistake for white to play 20.dxc6. I can't understand what this means. Instead it is recommending Qd1 or Qd2 in this position with 0.00 Do you think maybe that my free copy of Stockfish is giving me a bogus evaluation for this position? I mean, Sam is a GM so I would expect him to know what he is talking about here.
At 18:43 my engine thinks that it is definately wrong for black to play 21...Qb6 and instead recommends 21...Rxd5 with 0.00
This thing is so slow that it's driving me crazy....
I can't hear the voice. Why?
darse maskhaei bood
