The main sponsors for the tournament are the Norwegian companies HTH and Jadarhus, and it is hoped that the tournament will become a regular annual fixture in the chess calendar.

The event will also include a school tournament with hundreds of children, and a celebrity tournament with a range of celebrities showing off their chess skills!

I think you should have mentioned (update) the
"Stavanger Open NGP 2013 in parallel with Norway Chess 2013"
"Stavanger Chess Club invites all Norwegian and international chess players to participate in Stavanger Open NGP 2013."
"Wednesday 8th of May to Sunday 12th of May. Stavanger Open NGP 2013 will be played with one round on each day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday and two rounds on Saturday, for a total of 6 rounds. The playing schedule will be accommodated to the main tournament of Norway Chess, enabling the participants to watch and follow the games of Magnus Carlsen and the rest of the world elite live. All participants in Stavanger Open will have free entrance to the main tournament of Norway Chess.

With a total prize fund of NOK 35.000 (approx. EUR 5.000) it is the ambition and goal of Stavanger Chess Club to host a lot of national as well as international chess players."

Top 8 + China and another home player. Couldn't ask for more!

Only thing that could improve this tournament is if Kasparov would play.

    It's Hammer time!

Looks like a great event and depending on the winner of the Candidate tournament a good chance for some revenge!

    Hammer will handle these bums.

Naka haters, the line forms on the left. No pushing or shoving please.

Because these are all tip-top players, I predict a lot of draws -- there are no lower-rated players to beat up on. Yes, this is after the candidates tournament -- probably better that way, as the players (except two, probably) won't have the WC stuff on their minds.
