Seeing Ivanchuk there is very nice. Finally having a cycle without Topalov is also a huge relief. I hope he and his evil manager slowly but surely fade away from the chess world.

It's going to be a great competition with elites like Kramnik, Aronian, Carlsen, and a heavy weight like Gelfand who can reach the highest level on his best. Can't wait!

The last day is on April 1. I am sure that the news will report something like that Magnus Carlsen had to forfeit all his games on cheating accusations.

    @ lifesnotfair:

    • Boris Gelfand (loser of the 2012 World Championship)
    • The top 3 in the 2011 World Cup (Peter Svidler, Alexander Grischuk, Vassily Ivanchuk)
    • The top 3 rated players not otherwise qualified (Magnus Carlsen, Lev Aronian, Vladimir Kramnik)
    • A wildcard nominee from the original hosts Azerbaijan (Teimour Radjabov)

It would be one of the best fields but that Kasparov is not playing. He not Topalov should have had a rematch.
